All Saints' Day
It is observed to honour of all the saints,
known and unknown. It is celebrated on November 1. As the name suggests it is
celebrated by the Christian community. The second purpose behind its
celebration is to commemorate all those who have transformed into an angel
after their death in heaven. It is celebrated a day after Halloween. People
gather in local cemeteries and decorated the graves with flowers. People also
light candles on top of visiting graves of deceased relatives. In local
churches a prayer is also offered for each soul.
All Souls' Day
It is observed annually on November
2 just after All Saints' Day. On this
particular day prayers are dedicated to the dead. As it is related
Christianity, many christians visit cemeteries where their loved ones are
buried. The Catholic Church remembers deceased members of the group on this
day. People also offer items like food, symbols, flowers, candles, photos and
other mementos which are known as Altars in the memory of their deceased
relatives.
Skulls of candy are made for the day.
Veterans Day
Veterans Day remembers armed
service veterans in United States. The ceremony is intended to honour and thank
all who served in the United States Armed Forces.
It is observed annually on
November 11. It is a holiday in United States. The ceremony commences precisely
at 11:00 a.m. It starts with laying of flowers at the tomb of the unknowns. In
addition to that a parade is also organised. Veterans Day got its name in 1954.
Election Day
It is a very popular in the United States. On
this day election of public officials in the United States are held. These include national, state and
local government representatives at all levels up to the president.
People vote
for elected officials, visiting polling precincts. The way in which people
vote, depends on the state in which they live. The probable day is the Tuesday
after the first Monday of November in the date range November 2 to November 8. It is a public holiday in most states in US.
