Navratri
meaning nine nights is the popular festival among the Hindus all around the
world. It is celebrated for nine days. During these nine days nine forms of Shakti/Devi
are worshiped. The tenth day is commonly known as Vijayadashami or Dussehra. On
Vijayadashami big sized statues of Ravana who was the symbol of evil along with
his two sons Meghnath and Kumbkarana are burnt.
Navratri
Festival is dedicated to the three avatars of Goddess Shakti - Durga who is
known as the warrior Goddess, Lakshmi who is known as the Goddess of wealth,
and Saraswati who is known as the Goddess of knowledge. It is celebrated with
rejoice in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Orissa, Assam. This is the biggest
festival of the year in these states. It is celebrated twice a year.

demon Mahishasura. These are worshiped for five days and then are immersed in

People
fast for nine days during Navratri. Fasting in Navratri follows a practice of

also organised in Gujrat. During Garba people use to dance after the Durga
Pooja with the groups and live orchestra or devotional songs.
People
